My eating habits have evolved gradually over time, as I learned more about nutrition and what my body thrives on. Currently, I eat an entirely plant-based diet, which consists of vegetables, sprouts, nuts, seeds, nut and seed milks, some grains, and fruit (mostly avocado).
At the moment my diet is high raw. The maximum amount of cooked food I eat is 20% of my overall intake. I do use a dehydrator to make delicious meals and treats. You wouldn’t believe the tasty things you can create on a plant-based diet!
I juice regularly, green juices and wheatgrass. I like to squeeze lemon into warm water, sometimes with Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar.
Fasting is now a part of my routine. I do regular short intermittent fasts, and twice a year I do a 7-day green juice fast.
I understand making change can be difficult, and at the beginning stages it can seem to take a lot of time. The truth is making healthy choices does take time, but it also frees up time elsewhere. In addition, the increased energy and clarity of thinking makes you far more productive. That is priceless.
You will have to make choices. It may not always be easy, at least at the beginning. But you will find all the resources you need here to make the transition as easy as possible.
Once you really decide you are going to take control of your health and lifestyle, you will make the time. Sign up below to download a free Shift in 5 Relaxation that will support you in your new lifestyle.
Great question. It is so frustrating and confusing to read one day “fruit helps you lose weight” and the next day “fruit makes you fat.” There are a few reasons for this.
First, technology improves rapidly, so we can extract more and more meaningful data on daily basis. This means that what I tell you today may be different in six months. But the good news is I am always searching for the latest and best information.
We must be willing to adapt as we learn more and get access to more accurate information. This website is not about sticking rigidly to dogmatic philosophies, but evolving as individuals and in our approach. You are welcome here no matter where you are in the nutritional and wellness spectrum. You can evolve at your own pace, take what works for you and leave what doesn’t feel right for you.
Another reason the data seems to conflict is that the media does not print the whole truth. They print the flashy headline, but when you actually read the study itself, you almost always find the conclusion is not at all what was reported.
Why? We are talking about a lot of money. Advertising money. Food industry money. Pharmaceutical money. Billions of dollars. Any information that could impact profits is often distorted and even ignored.
Most of the studies you read about in mainstream media are bought and paid for by the people who will profit from the information.
Usually “research” will say what the profit-makers want it to say. But sometimes it works in reverse as well, where something is exaggerated to be worse than it is. Because it makes a good headline, a finding associating soda with stroke for example might be completely blown out of proportion. For the record, I don’t drink or advocate drinking soda, but I also don’t advocate misleading people.
In just one 16 ounce green juice, I get more protein than the average person gets in three days, and that protein is highly absorbable and available to the body. My green juice usually includes sunflower and pea greens, along with celery and cucumber.
I can teach you how to grow your own sunflower and pea greens. If you don’t want to do that, there are companies around the world that offer delivery services of fresh sprouts and sprouted greens.
Sprouting is so cheap and easy! Sprouts, vegetables, beans, legumes, nuts, and seeds all contain protein, and it is absorbable protein.
Sometimes I take a protein powder that is made from sprouted seeds that have been fermented to increase the availability of nutrients and improve gut health.
Even better, I often make my own protein from activated seeds (that just means I soaked them for while to get rid of enzyme and nutrient blockers in the seed).
My heart truly goes out to you. Everyone wants to be supported, especially when you are making choices to improve your health. You must always keep in mind why you are making the changes and the benefits you get as a result.
Do not force anyone to join you. Your results will be the biggest convincer. But even when you transform, there will still be naysayers. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that you are alive and thriving.
The best thing you can offer your loved ones is the healthiest, clearest, most loving version of yourself. You have the opportunity to be an example and an inspiration for them.
It all begins with the mind. It really does. And a healthy body goes hand in hand with a healthy mind. This website isn’t really about food. It’s about you making an impact in your life and the lives of others. It’s about being incredibly well mentally and physically. It’s about you taking your place in this world and experiencing the goodness that is always present. Sign up below for a free Shift in 5 Relaxation that will help guide you.
You can relax because it is your natural state. That means it is your basic operating system.
This question might be like asking a fish how does it breathe underwater? It is designed to breathe under water. You are designed to experience life in a clear, relaxed state.
For most of us this original programming gets buried as a result of experiences and lack of training. By understanding how your mind works along with consistent practice, you can return to that relaxed state as your general way of being. You will make better choices and experience the grace and wonder of every day life.
It is a different world when you view it from a relaxed state. Sign up below for a free Shift in 5 Relaxation that will help you access that state.
